THE HOWARD PARK NEIGHBORDHOOD ASSOCIATION

Howard Park is one of the cities oldest and favorite parks. This beautiful site is situated along the St. Joseph River and part of the walking/jogging/bike path extending from the IUSB campus through down town South Bend out to the Indiana/Michigan border.

Howard Park features an ice skating rink and hosts numerous community events and outdoor concerts throughout the year. If you don't feel like walking or riding your bike to Howard Park, there are plenty of parking accommodations surrounding it.

Walking east along the river path in Howard Park will lead you to the East Race dock which provides a public boat launch. During the summer you will see Notre Dame's rowing crew practicing from the dock as they row up and down the St. Joseph River --- there's even white water rafting available where an Olympic-class raceway takes you through a 1,900 foot water way!  (The raceway is the first artificial white-water course in North America!)  Walk west down the path and you will find yourself in vibrant downtown South Bend where you can eat, shop, and explore.

There's a whole world within walking distance of our homes here in the Howard Park Neighborhood.
